Why Most Furnaces Die in Middle Age…..
Most furnaces only reach middle age and use 30% to 50% more fuel than they need to.
Here’s Why:
The number one reason is the lack of proper maintenance. The build up of dust and dirt on blower wheels, in filters, on heat exchangers and on even on your indoor air conditioning coil.
Burners, gas valves and blower motors age and their efficiency is also hampered.
Then in some cases the heat exchanger may develop a crack that can eventually lead to carbon monoxide in your home.
The most important issue is that all the air you breathe passes through the areas where this gunk can build up and where carbon monoxide can pass into your home.
What You Can Do:
To prevent high gas bills your system should be cleaned and checked regularly. By taking care of your furnace you will save money and your furnace will last years longer.
