The quiet operation comes from solid construction and a host of features to reduce operating sound. A deluxe sound blanket helps contain compressor noise. The two-speed fan motor operates mostly on quieter, lower speed. To enhance comfort, the two-stage scroll compressor runs normally at lower capacity and changes over to the higher capacity for even more cooling or heating when the temperature changes. When the weather turns chilly, it automatically switches over to the heating mode. Pair this heat pump with a variable-speed air handler or, for all the advantages of a dual fuel system, combine it with an Atlas Butler 80% to 95% AFUE‡ variable-speed, two-stage gas furnace and the correct Atlas Butler dual fuel controls.
